Globo and Telemundo launch ‘Jugar con Fuego’ at Natpe 2019

An adaptation of ‘Doomed’, the co-production developed in partnership with Telemundo International Studios was presented during the trade show in Miami
This Tuesday evening, January 22nd, many international industry representatives attended the presentation of the main releases from Telemundo International Studios. Among them is the new co-production with Globo, ‘Jugar con Fuego.’ An adaptation of the Brazilian series ‘Doomed’, the limited series was launched during NATPE 2019, in Miami, on the same day of its premiere in the United States. The production’s cast was in attendance, including the Brazilian actor Marcelo Serrado. George Moura and José Luiz Villamarim, author and director of the original series, as well as Monica Albuquerque, Globo’s Head of Development, Silvio de Abreu, Globo’s Head of Drama & Comedy, and Raphael Corrêa Netto, the company’s Head of International Business, were also present.

In ‘Jugar con Fuego,’ Fabrizio, an attractive and sexy man, arrives at a prosperous Colombian coffee region, and enters the lives of three women - Camila and Martina, who are married and great friends, and Andrea, Martina’s daughter - and shakes to the core everyone’s lives in a terrible and permanent way. The entrance of Fabrizio into a forbidden territory will confirm that playing with fire can bring serious consequences. Entirely filmed in Colombia, the limited series has 10 episodes.
The co-production is directed by Mafer Suárez and Riccardo Gabrielli, with cinematography direction by Carlos Hidalgo and Andrés García. The concept of the adaptation was conceived by Marcos Santana and adapted by Julia Montejo and Jose Luis Acosta. The executive production is by Marcos Santana, President of the Telemundo Global Studios, and Ximena Cantuarias, from Telemundo; Diego Ramírez and Nancy Fernández, from 64A Films, and Tony Plana.
The Brazilian version, ‘Doomed’, aired on Globo in Brazil in 2014. The limited series has also had success abroad, airing on Globo’s international channel in Portugal, and on SIC, also in Portugal. The original work has also been licensed to more than 50 countries, including Argentina, Colombia, Korea, Costa Rica, United Arab Emirates, Chile, Ukraine, Venezuela, Jordan, Paraguay, Egypt, among others.
