Globo and Warner Bros. renew multi-year deal for the exclusive rights to broadcast films on free-to-air TV in Brazil

Executives of both companies meet at LA Screenings
Globo and Warner Bros. International Television Distribution have just signed a multi-year renewal deal to exclusively broadcast films on free-to-air TV. Included in the deal is the award-winning film ‘A Star Is Born’ (Oscar for Best Original Song) ‘Fantastic Beasts: Crimes of Grindewald’, ‘The Meg’, ‘Ocean’s 8’, ‘Rampage’, among others. The agreement also gives Globo broadcasting rights to DC Comics movies such as ‘Aquaman’, ‘Justice League’ and ‘Shazam’.
CEO of Globo, Carlos Henrique Schroder, and President of Warner Bros. International Television Distribution, Jeff Schlesinger, met at the Warner Bros.’ event during LA Screenings, in Burbank, this past Monday (20), to celebrate the contract renewal and long-standing partnership. Also present were Amauri Soares, Chief Acquisition and Programming Officer of Globo, and John Garcia, Senior Vice President and General Manager of Latin America, Warner Bros. International Television Distribution.
“The high quality of the pictures produced by Warner adds value and impact to our film programming. We are very happy to be able to continue to bring these box office movies to Brazilian audiences,” said Amauri Soares.
“We enjoy a very long-standing and successful relationship with Globo and look forward to our films being a part of their programming line-up,” added Schlesinger.
