Little Missy
Synopsis
A young girl grows up, the daughter of the largest slave plantation owner in the region, experiencing the trials and tribulations that come with this position. A slave owner by proxy, she hides in her heart abolitionist ideals, though seemingly not understanding political wiles. Amidst masters and slaves, conflict and romance, is Little Missy, the next 6pm tele-novela, beginning on March 13th, directed by Ricardo Waddington, Rogério Gomes, Luiz Antônio Pillar and Marcelo Travesso. The text was written by Benedito Ruy Barbosa and adapted by Edmara and Edilene Barbosa.
It is the story of the love between Little Missy (Débora Falabella) and the lawyer Rodolfo (Danton Mello) interwoven with the political disputes that took over Brazil on the eve of the abolition of slavery, in the second half of the 19th century. Inspired by the novel of the same name, written by Maria Dezonne Pacheco Fernandes, the tele-novela was first broadcast in 1986, with a script by Benedito Ruy Barbosa and directed by Reynaldo Boury and Jayme Monjardim.
